Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in my first session?

Your first session is a space to get to know you—at your pace. As part of individual therapy for adults, we’ll talk about what brings you in, what you’d like to work on, and any questions you may have. You don’t need to prepare anything or have the “right words.” Just showing up is enough.  For couples?  Same process in the first session.  Then, I’ll meet individually with each partner, send a 60-90 minute questionnaire and then we’ll begin the work of creating common goals.

That’s completely okay. Many people start mental health counseling unsure of where to begin. I’ll guide the conversation in a way that feels natural and supportive, helping you explore what feels most important without pressure.

Not at all. Therapy isn’t only for crisis or severe situations. Many people seek therapy for stress, anxiety, and personal growth.  Others come to better understand themselves, improve relationships, manage stress, or break patterns that no longer serve them. Wheter you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply want clarity, therapy can help.

The connection between therapist and client matters. If you are looking for a therapist in Florida or online therapy in Florida, a consultation can help you get a sense of whether you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, you’re always free to explore other options.

No. Therapy is a nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly and honestly. My role is to understand your experience, not to criticize or shame.
